Introducing New 2024 Ford Super Duty Full-Size Truck Review

Posted on

2024 Ford Super Duty the fourteenth generation of the “regular” full-size Ford F-150 F-Series is on its way to new sales records now that it covers a broader spectrum of powertrains.

So maybe now is a good time to focus on the Super Duty stuff, if only virtually.

After their exciting CGI previews of things like the 2024 GMC Sierra Denali EV, the 2023 Nissan Altima, or the new 2023 Honda CR-V, the good folks at the AutoYa YouTube info channel have already envisioned the Blue Oval’s next appearance.

Heavy duty pickup, complete with all engine options. And we mean it, with the rumors of gasoline, diesel, hybrid, and EV.

Better yet, in addition to talking about the recent spy catch on all fifth-generation Ford Super Duty series showcasing innovative design cues for the 2023 or 2024 model years, the channel has also taken the liberty of ditching all camouflage for such a good set. Unofficial CGI changes.

That’s plural, even as the main hero of the digital day is the lone Lariat-trimmed F-250 pickup (with exterior and interior CGI), as the media has also done virtual thoughts on the Super Duty Lightning’s potential.

But it makes far less sense than everything known about the upcoming Super Duty redesign, and don’t worry, all the rumors have been gathered and shared in the embedded video below.

Plus, there are insights into the potential of the Super Duty Hybrid, as well as old vs. new comparisons, and CGI previews of the already traditional color palette.

As usual, although we’re dealing with a fairly short and stuffy six-minute video, the content is also spread out in chapters and each one has its proper timestamp embedded in the description.

We, for example, are always happy to start with color previews and only then go back to the main rumors and CGI reels but that’s just us, of course.

2024 Ford Super Duty Review

The 2024 Ford Super Duty is expected to undergo a mid-cycle refresh that will introduce revised styling inside and out, as well as several new technology features.

2024 Ford Super Duty

Since then, Ford Authority spies have seen a number of Ford Super Duty prototypes that will appear later be ridden in varying degrees of camo, giving us an idea of what to expect from the truck’s exterior and interior design.

The rugged, off-road-focused 2024 Ford Super Duty for the first time, and the F-350 XL Regular Cab model, give us a bird’s-eye view. Various configurations are available.

While everyone has sported their fair share of camo, we can clearly see that the updated truck will feature a new front-end design with revised headlights and C-clamp grille, integrated bed steps, and restyled taillights at the rear.

Meanwhile, spies at Ford Authority have seen several Ford Super Duty prototypes put through their paces in recent months as the long-running model prepares to upgrade, including the single-cab double, double-crew cab, and the standard SuperCab.

A bed, a model with platinum accents and black wheels, an F-450 with a gooseneck trailer, a Crew Cab prototype with much less camouflage, another offering a step-by-step view of the truck’s new bed, and the F-450 La King Ranch is a double, as good as it looks.

We take a look at the Super Duty’s updated interior, glimpses of the no-frills XL cab, and an assembly line video showing the interior in more detail.

The interior of the 2024 Ford Super Duty is also expected to feature a simple XL cab and assembly line videos showing Ford F-150-inspired maintenance.

Recently, Ford Authority spies gave us our first look at the truck’s single binnacle design, which is a big departure from the existing model’s dual binnacle design.

As for powertrains, the 2023 Super Duty will not have a hybrid option, as the Ford Authority recently reported.

On the exterior, the 2024 Ford Super Duty incorporates styling influenced by the new Ford Maverick and the next-generation Ford Ranger, with a split dual-bar grille and C-clamp headlamps, as well as a new chrome-plated taillamp design.

The back part. Inside the cabin, the truck has an overall look very similar to the 2021 Ford F-150, with a new steering wheel, gauge cluster, and possibly a larger infotainment screen.

2024 Ford Super Duty Design

Check out the following! This image and video of the 2024 Ford Super Duty Concept come to us from Jay Quarles (TFLtruck viewer).

Thanks, Jay for submitting this! This is the first time we’ve seen the potential of a new design without camo. Just look at the headlight surround and the new grille design.

This prototype was spotted near Kingman, Arizona while undergoing some warm weather testing. These trucks are seen pulling conventional trailers and goosenecks.

New Ford Super Duty Rendering

The 2024 Ford Super Duty sees a camouflaged Ford Super Duty pickup with an open grille.

Based on the design of the current generation Ford Super Duty truck and the exposed grille of the 2023 prototype in a collection of spy photos that will show the view ever clearer.

The front camouflage limited to the fully exposed front grille of this Ford Super Duty shows a marked difference from the current generation of trucks.

Based on our observations, this 2024 Ford Super Duty is a Lariat version based on the presence of body-color running boards and mirror caps.

While we did get a chance to look at the grille on the new 2024 Ford Super Duty, Ford’s camo hides another change to the truck’s sheet metal.

The hood appears flat and the distinctive chamfer around the grille of the current generation truck is hidden in this camouflaged concept truck.

When it comes to late-production trucks, we expect a series of updates that make this more than just a lackluster mid-cycle update.

Based on the spy photos, we’re expecting a completely redesigned interior that should follow the design cues of the current generation Ford F-150.

Ford 2024 Ford Super Duty should keep the current line of gasoline and diesel engines with the possibility of a hybrid model.

The current 6.2-liter and 7.3-liter V8s should remain relatively unchanged alongside the 6.7-liter turbocharged V8 diesel.

Next Ford Super Duty Spied

The heavy-duty Ford pickup will borrow styling cues from the F-150. Ford isn’t shy today with a test fleet of new Super Duty trucks. We recently caught a SuperCab model on the road that appears to be an XLT trim level.

2024 Ford Super Duty

Now we have something a little more significant in the F-Series Super Duty family, and more luxurious, too.

Admittedly, it was difficult to hide the 22-foot-long truck. If anything, these vehicles stand out even more when cloaked in camouflage. Oddly enough, Ford doesn’t seem interested in hiding the areas where most of the changes are taking place.

The grille looks complete here, except for the large center-mounted Ford oval. Looking closer, we see a different grille design from the XLT we saw earlier, though large C-shaped running lights still frame the headlights.

Peeling black paint around the grille indicates it’s actually chrome. under.

So we think it’s a King Ranch model, not top of the line but certainly luxurious in its own right. The wheels also have black paint that looks chipped, exposing more chrome.

A long-bed configuration with a larger cab and dual rear wheels makes it the F-350 model, a kit that currently costs $70,000 before optional add-ons.

Our sources tell us that the King Ranch and Platinum trim levels will share the same front clip, and the paint combination will show which.

We did see updated LED taillights at the rear, but beyond that, exterior improvements over the current Super Duty should be minimal.

Further changes are expected inside. In keeping with the F-150, we hear the large center touchscreen will hold stations on a redesigned dash that still incorporates plenty of touch controls.

The screen could be 12-inches and the new digital driver display could be part of the higher-end King Ranch package. Expect plenty of techs, too, though so far we haven’t heard anything definitive about Ford’s BlueCruise hands-free system.

Beneath the skin, Ford should bring the chassis and powertrain options of today’s trucks.

That means familiar gasoline or diesel power, channeled through a 10-speed automatic transmission. The 6.7-liter turbodiesel V8 can get a power boost to stay competitive with Chevrolet and Ram full-size trucks.
