Impressive: 2024 Ford F250 Super Duty Review, Specs and Price

Posted on

2024 Ford F250 While the full-size F-150 commands most of the attention in Ford’s vast truck portfolio, the Super Duty models are the real workhorses. The entry-level Super Duty truck, the Ford F-250, has just undergone a complete redesign.

After undergoing a complete makeover last year, we don’t see any significant modifications for the 2024 model.

The game with the F-250 is called capability, and this generation of trucks offers two new engine options. The standard 6.8-liter V8 produces 525 lb-ft of torque and 405 horsepower. Ford provides a 6.7-liter V8 diesel engine suitable for 475 horsepower and 1,050 lb-ft for individuals with heavier needs.

Each engine is matched with a 10-speed automatic transmission. Above 20,000 pounds, the maximum towing capacity is a Pro Power Onboard generator and a load scale in the bed is another job site addition.

Other big truck options, such as the Chevy Silverado 2500HD, GMC Sierra 2500HD, and Ram 2500, challenge the F-250 Super Duty. Ford keeps up with its rivals with new designs and more powerful powertrain options.

2024 Ford F-250 Review

2024 Ford F250: Ford knows how you want to use your new Super Duty, so the manufacturer provides many high-tech tools that can simplify hauling and towing. For example, Ford increased the availability of Onboard Scales with Smart Hitch technology on XL and XLT trim levels this year.

The heavy-duty Ford Super Duty truck range is 2024 from the Blue Oval. These large pickups have class-leading qualities and enough tech to go along with them. Pricing starts at $44,970.

The next level up is heavy-duty for buyers of trucks seeking more capabilities than a half-ton truck like the Ford F-150 delivers. These trucks are the Super Duty versions of Ford’s best-selling F-Series range.

Bigger, brawnier, and worse than the F-150, a great vehicle in its own right, the Ford F-250, F-350, and more commercially oriented F-450 are bigger and brawnier. Not only above the F-150 but also over rivals like the Chevrolet Silverado HD and Ram’s HD series, these Ford Super Duty models greatly enhance capability.

2024 Ford F250 Reviews

In this area, Ford can claim king-of-the-hill status after an all-new generation debuted last year; bragging rights in this segment are as large as the trucks themselves. Its towing capacity runs up to 40,000 pounds.

The Super Duty roster for 2024 presents a range of cabs, bed lengths, and diesel and gasoline engine options. These trucks are designed to work and play hard. With technologies to simplify towing and hauling and inbuilt 5G connectivity—a first in trucks—they bring plenty of brains with their brawn.

This certainly allows owners to prevent running the F-250 too full. Semi-autonomous technologies that allow you to board and reverse a trailer are Pro Trailer Hitch Assist and Pro Trailer Backup Assist.

Numerous cameras improve vision when towing; the navigation system can even help you avoid lanes that don’t suit your truck and trailer.

  • Roomy and cozy cabin
  • Excellent hauling and towing numbers
  • Loads of easily accessible technology to simplify hauling and towing
  • Usually, on most models, four-wheel drive standard

What’s New

The Ford Super Duty returns for 2024 with no notable changes after the fourth-generation truck debuted just last year.

2024 Ford F250

The 2024 Ford F250 Super Duty is already a big hit in the broad lineup of the automotive truck market. We already know that this Super Duty model has received a complete overhaul with a fresh design for the newest model.

Based on Clint Simone on the Edmunds 9, the truck comes with two new engine options for this generation. At the same time, a standard engine comes with a 6.8-liter V8 that produces 400 horsepower and 445 lb-ft of torque. There is an option to choose from for more power as Ford offers a 6.7-liter V8 diesel, which is good for 475 hp and 1,050 lb-ft. Both engines are paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission.

The 2024 Ford F250 features a max towing capacity well north of 20,000 pounds and also features an Onboard Pro Power generator and bedside weighing scale.

Of course, the competition is tougher than usual. The Chevy Silverado 2500HD, GMC Sierra 2500HD, and Ram 2500 are the biggest rivals of the 2024 Ford F-250 Super Duty. On the other hand, Ford is proud to present the 2024 F250 with a fresh design and more powerful engine options that are ready for action in the automotive market.

2024 F-250

With the new 2024 Ford F250 and the Lightning all-electric type behind it, we feel it’s only a matter of time before Blue Oval gives the family members of the larger F-Series a much-needed update. We see and talk about the F-250, F-350, and F-450 trucks, and our spies have caught the F-350 prototype while doing some road testing, though it is still pure speculation.

In some results, the appearance of the new vehicle is spaced. Oddly enough, the prototype you see here wears a Platinum trim outfit based on the chrome accents found on the mirror caps and the bottom of the windows. It’s not clear what the car’s design is, but we can see a spoiler on this new vehicle.

But what differs in appearance is the presence of black alloy wheels on this prototype, which can be said. Currently, the only way to get black wheels on the F-350 Platinum is to opt for the Off-Road Tremor package. However, we can only see spare wheels on this prototype as Ford is still in the early stages of the test phase and has a long process to finalize it.

It should be noted that the F350 Tremor Off-Road package has been discontinued for the Super Duty XLT version but is still offered in the King Ranch and Platinum variants. With this prototype, it is clear that we expect the Off-Road Tremor package to remain for the 2023 model year.

In addition to the side design with chrome wheels that illustrate the prowess of this car, the Ford F-150 is very practical. Wrapped in some thick camouflage, the design has been covered, so we can’t see clearly how the original design was. Of course, we can still hope the design is better than in previous years, equipped with several styles with many variations that the user can choose from.

We also hope that the 2024 Ford Super Duty Pickup can be present to complement the automotive market next year for the 2023 model year, but so far, the forecast is that more testing sights will be carried out in the weeks of the month to come.

  • The upgrade to the 1,050-pound-feet diesel engine is complemented by many of the technological features required by a spacious crew cabin interior.
  • Upgrades to the Ford Super Duty Lineup offer impressive features and even more impressive capabilities.

The Ford Super Duty F-250 F-350 or F-450 could expect to have more of the options people need, but for those who need it, it generally impresses on the trio of V-8s with a 73-liter engine with 473 pound-feet of torque and 67-liter diesel with 1,050 pound-feet of torque. The Ford Super Duty is also well equipped with a towing force of up to 37,000 pounds and carries up to 7,850 pounds of payload, which is impressive.

Its competitor’s RAM offers higher torque and towing capability, and a better interior of a car with a more luxurious cabin crew provides a unique atmosphere and ample space for passengers, which is what we expect from the latest Ford update. This is sure to be improved with high technology and religious and driver assistance features.

Our line-up expects to receive the latest infotainment features with several new Accent exterior and interior color options, now the appearance of a 120-inch touchscreen with Ford’s Sync 4 software and Apple CarPlay wireless and Android Auto.

The addition of this model’s Lariat Sport windshield package adds to the matching grille and mirrors, a black running board, and chrome exhaust tips. The chrome paint palette now includes Atlas Blue. Interior colors for the Lariat trim now include Navy Pier steel, and the added Limited Light Slate.

2024 Ford Super Duty Redesign

Ford CEO Jim Farley has made it clear in recent months that he believes the automaker’s current line-up is too complex, which is at least partly to blame for the financial company’s disappointing 2022 performance. This is especially important as Ford Blue – a division that makes ICE cars – is expected to continue to turn big profits. At the same time, FoMoCo grows its Model e EV business while cutting costs by $8 billion to cover the widening gap between itself and its competitors.

Ford executive Jim Baumbick, vice president of product development and quality operations, says the simplified vehicle lineup is one way to help achieve that goal, which looks imminent after the 2024 model year.

“There’s no doubt we’re on a mission, and you’ll see that with the 2024 model year,” the Ford executive said while speaking at the 2023 Bank of America Automotive Summit. “We offer customers some dramatic reductions in complexity.

The reality is it gets too complicated, and what I like about derivatives is when we find something that we know is going to resonate, they have to struggle to get it in because the net uptake has to stop over time. What I think you’re going to start to see is we’re going to find a very discreet space, almost like the configuration of the vehicle you’re ordering versus the historical way of ordering a vehicle. We will learn on the fly but offer truly bespoke derivatives that customers can choose to make reductions over time.”

Baumbick is referring to trim levels and package options, but maybe he’s also talking about different configurations and mechanical features. For example, the redesigned 2023 Ford Super Duty is now only available with four-wheel drive across the range—except for the entry-level XL trim—which is one way to reduce complexity.

Meanwhile, FoMoCo has several refreshed and redesigned products debuting for the 2024 model year that fit perfectly with Baambick’s intended scope. That includes an all-new next-generation Ford Ranger, an updated Ford Explorer, and an updated Ford F-150.

2024 Ford F250 Super Duty Regular Cab

Whatever kind of labor you conduct, we practically promise a Ford Super Duty will help you to accomplish it. Our tests have revealed that a willing mate is even discovered in the least powerful engine. And by “least powerful,” we refer to a 6.8-liter V8 generating 445 lb-ft of torque and 405 horsepower. The 7.3-liter V8 with 430 hp and 485 lb-ft of torque offers a more powerful gasoline engine if you so wish. On the other hand, you probably want the 6.7-liter Power Stroke turbodiesel V8 if you have major towing and hauling to accomplish. While the high-output version improves it to 500 hp and a class-leading 1,200 lb-ft of torque, the ordinary version cranks out 475 hp and 1,050 lb-ft of torque. This is the engine allowing the 40,000-pound tow figure.

And that is not only rhetoric. We have driven a suitable equipped Super Duty carrying 40,000 pounds up an elevation as well, less. And we yet felt as though we had muscular reserve should it be necessary. Ascending that same route, we saw some noise from the cooling system and engine brakes, but it’s a minor cost for a vehicle capable of this kind of job. Any engine you decide on will be linked to a 10-speed automatic transmission that has been carefully calibrated. Actually, the way this truck may be throughout town shocked and delighted us. The braking, steering, and powertrain are all incredibly smooth and responsive. Imagine a semi-truck operating like a Honda Accord, and then dial it back to reality.

Given this is a full-size workhorse, we believe Ford did a great job with the Super Duty’s steering and suspension. Constant inputs of the former are not necessary; the latter does a great job absorbing bumps. Still, bear in mind that if you are choosing between an F-150 and an F-250, heavy-duty trucks are not the smoothest-riding vehicles available. Although Ford’s BlueCruise hands-free driving system is not yet offered for the Super Duty, the big truck’s highway driving aid systems performed a good job of shepherding a lot of the highway driving in our testing.

2024 Ford F250 Platinum

The 2024 Ford F-250 Platinum is a line of heavy-duty pickup trucks that offers a maximum towing capacity of 40,000 pounds and a payload of 8,000 pounds for those who need to haul metaphorical mountains every day. The Super Duty series, which includes the F-250, F-350, and F-450, may be equipped with Ford’s excellent V-8 Power Stroke diesel engine in addition to a pair of reliable gas-powered V-8s.

Of course, the 2024 Ford F-250 Platinum is equipped with a 6.7-liter engine producing up to 500 horsepower and a class-leading 1,200 pound-feet of torque. These trucks may also be equipped with extraordinary levels of luxury, such as two-tone leather interiors and seats with more adjustability than a chiropractor’s.

The presence of innovative optional technologies on the 2024 Ford F-250 Platinum includes a center console that converts into a table, a bed-mounted onboard generator, and driver assists that make hauling and towing easier. The 2024 Super Duty is more than the sum of its parts and is capable of completing almost any task.

  • Model: 2024 Ford F-250
  • MSRP: From $77,865
  • Towing capacity: 16,200 to 16,600 lbs
  • Engine: 6.7 L V8 diesel, 7.3 L V8
  • Horsepower: 430 to 500 hp
  • Bed length: 81.6 to 98.4″
  • Bore: 3.9 to 4.2″

2024 Ford Super Duty King Ranch

The 2024 Ford Super Duty King Ranch is a truck that requires greater capability than a half-ton truck like the Ford F-150. It is the Super Duty variant of Ford’s best-selling F-Series series.

In this segment, bragging rights are as important as the truck itself, and with a new generation that debuted last year, Ford can claim the top spot. It is capable of towing up to 40,000 pounds.

The 2024 Super Duty portfolio includes a variety of cabs, bed lengths, and engine options, including petrol and diesel engines. These trucks are designed to work and play hard. With advancements like the integration of 5G connectivity (a first on a truck) and technology that makes towing and hauling easier, they bring a lot of intelligence to their strengths.

Whatever type of work you’re doing, the Ford Super Duty will almost certainly let you get it done. In our testing, we found that even the smallest machines can be willing partners.

By “least powerful,” we mean the 6.8-liter V8 with 405 horsepower and 445 pound-feet of torque; if you want a more powerful gas engine, the 7.3-liter V8 makes 430 hp and 485 lb-ft of torque. If you plan on doing a lot of towing and hauling, the 6.7-liter V8 Power Stroke turbodiesel engine is a great choice.

The base version produces 475 horsepower and 1,050 pound-feet of torque, while the high-output option produces a class-leading 500 horsepower and 1,200 pound-feet of torque. This is a machine that allows for a towing capacity of 40,000 pounds.

And this isn’t just marketing talk. We drove a well-equipped Super Duty, towing 40,000 pounds. Nothing less than a trend. And it looks like he still has power in reserve if needed.

We noted some noise from the engine braking and cooling system as we descended the same route, but this is a small price to pay for a vehicle that can do this kind of job. Whichever engine you choose, it will be mated to a well-tuned 10-speed automatic transmission.

Considering this is a full-sized workhorse, we’re confident Ford did a great job with the steering and suspension on the Super Duty. The former does not need to be constantly fed, while the latter does a fantastic job of absorbing bumps. Modern technology, like adaptive cruise control, also helps gobble up long distances. The Super Duty, unlike the F-150, does not yet include Ford’s BlueCruise hands-free driving technology.

  • Horsepower: 430 to 500 hp

2024 Ford F250 Interior

What is the inside like? Inside, the F-250 is clearly better than last-generation Super Duty. Though little adjustments to the control layout make things simpler to see and reach, it hasn’t been totally changed. The radio and climate settings have separate knobs, so it’s simple to change the temperature without looking away from the road. Though the system is quick and the menus are properly arranged, some controls are linked to the touchscreen. Finding where everything is and how the elements interact is easy overall.

Furthermore, the cabin is roomy, which is suitable for an NBA starting roster inside. In neither row should headroom, legroom, or shoulder room be a problem. Even with our King Ranch’s usual retractable running boards, the elevated ride height makes getting in and out a hard challenge. Once you’re inside, though, good flexibility for the seat and wheel and adjustable pedals help you easily locate a comfortable driving position.

The outside view is solid as well—at least for a heavy-duty truck. There are blind areas, but most trims have a variety of sensors and cameras to improve view. Ford even provides parking sensors and cameras that operate when the tailgate is down—that is when you are transporting a longer load. A surround-view camera and extra cameras for the trailer further help the driver.

Depending on the cab arrangement, the 2024 Ford Super Duty can seat three to six passengers. Most simply, it’s a work truck with vinyl floors and a cloth bench seat. On the other side, it might compete with a luxury car with heaps of leather, heated and ventilated seats, and much more. Top-end models, for instance, are available with the Max Recline front seats, which can be lowered into a bed—perfect for a break following a demanding day. Additionally available is the Ford center console work surface, which converts the space between the two front seats into a laptop holder or workstation. While top variants have a 12-inch display, even basic Super Duty models feature an 8-inch touchscreen. One can have a high-end Bang & Olufsen audio system. Crew Cab models feature lots of rear legroom at 43.6 inches, the same as the Ford F-150. SuperCab versions run roughly 10 inches shorter.

2024 Ford F250 Comfort

The F-250 Super Duty seems really cozy. In pickup trucks nowadays, comfort is far better than it was even a few years ago. Although we wouldn’t go so far as to characterize it as luxury or plush, the F-250—especially in the upper-level trims like our King Ranch test vehicle—is comfortable on the street, even on prolonged rides. Although the seats were very flat, we discovered they were nice and well-padded. On longer trips, we had no problems with sore backs or behinds. In the rear, it’s much the same; a flat but comfortable bench can be folded to create more baggage space. Though it’s right for what we expect in this class, the ride comfort falls on the firm side of comfort.

The heated chairs get toasted rapidly as the climate control system blows chilly. Nobody truly likes an American carmaker. Our main gripe is that several settings and readouts—like the cabin temperature—are found on the touchscreen, which makes the controls for the climate system somewhat unsatisfactory. On the road, the F-250 also proved to be rather quiet. Indeed, there is some diesel noise, but it is minor and never loud enough to prevent a discussion. Though the tires do generate some noise at highway speeds, wind and road noise is somewhat subdued.

2024 Ford F250 Technology

Regarding the tech, how is it? The newest Super Duty loads some decent driver aids and in-car technology. Almost every trim model features a 12-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The navigation is good; the digital instrument cluster and head-up display show clear, easily readable maps and turn-by-turn directions. Standard on all models are Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and USB connections abound for charging. A few trims also have a pair of 120-volt household-style power outlets. An excellent 18-speaker B&O audio system was built into our King Ranch model. Among the greatest, we have ever driven in a pickup vehicle.

Adaptive cruise control, blind-spot warning, a surround-view camera system, and automatic emergency braking abound among the driver aids accessible for the F-250. In practice, it’s all easy to use and performs nicely. We saw no incorrect indications for the emergency braking or collision warning systems; adaptive cruise control has good gaps and can bring you to a complete stop.

Infotainment and Connectivity

Base XL models come standard with a non-touchscreen for your infotainment system. The 2024 Ford F250 XLT has an 80-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay Android Auto and a Wi-Fi access point. It can also be upgraded with a 10-speaker B&O stereo and SiriusXM satellite radio that requires a paid subscription after the first three months.

A couple of large volumes of tuning buttons and other physical buttons on the steering wheel make the system feel intuitive.

The rest of the line has a 120-inch touchscreen with Sync 4 software, including wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Larger booths can be outfitted with enough accessory outlets, including up to two 110-volt power outlets, to power a Guns N ‘Roses concert.

2024 Ford F250 Exterior

Like everything else, the Ford Super Duty exaggerates everything known about the most sold F-150. This is a large truck designed for heavy tasks. There is still a range of bed lengths and cab widths. While SuperCab and Crew Cab variations can have a shorter 6-and-3/4-foot bed, Regular Cab vehicles include an 8-foot long bed. The Super Duty runs 231.8 inches at its shortest. Its length is 266.2 inches—more than 22 feet—so choose your parking place carefully and measure your garage before making a purchase. As expected, packages affect the outside look of the Super Duty. For instance, the Tremor Off-Road option includes 35-inch all-terrain tires, under-body protection, and higher suspension. Moreover, Ford’s Pro Upfit Integration System lets Super Duty trucks be installed with specific tools like a crane or snow plow, which the touchscreen of the cabin lets be operated. Standard on the F-450, dual rear wheels can be optioned on the F-350 versions.

2024 Ford F250 Features

1. Technology 5G connectivity

Even now the truck is on the road, the digital improvements of the 2024 Super Duty allow speedier navigation, Wi-Fi (optional for up to 10 devices), and over-the-air software updates.

2. Tailgate Down rear parking sensors and camera

Thanks to an optional camera and sensor system that works whether the tailgate is up or down, reversing toward a gooseneck or fifth-wheel trailer or up to a docking space is now easier. For the class, this is the first.

3. Pro Power onboarding

This optional 2-kilowatt electrical system with domestic plugs can power the Super Duty’s lighting system, tools, or tailgate party.

4. Navigating a trailer

This optional device considers the weight and size of the trailer to prevent low bridges and tight corners if necessary when it charts a path.

5. Onboard scales

This feature would let drivers know whether their projected load falls under reasonable weight restrictions using either a smartphone app or intelligent taillights.

6. Alert on trailer theft.

Should someone try to disconnect the trailer when the truck is locked, this function will notify you using the FordPass app.

2024 Ford F250 Models

With a 6.75-foot or an 8-foot cargo bed, the 2024 Ford F-250 Super Duty is offered in regular-cab, extended-cab (SuperCab), and crew-cab (SuperCrew) models. From one of six trim levels—XL, XLT, Lariat, King Ranch, Platinum, and Limited—dependent on the one you decide upon. The trim level determines the available cab type; only the F-250 SuperCrew comes in all six of them.

There are four engines: two diesel and two gasoline V8s. Standard is a 6.8-liter V8 running 405 horsepower and 445 lb-ft of torque with the XL model. Upgrade to the XLT level; the F-250 features a 7.3-liter gasoline V8 with 430 horsepower and 485 lb-ft (optional with the XL). Every F-250 model gives an option between two available turbocharged 6.7-liter diesel V8 engines. The standard specification calls for the turbodiesel to produce 475 horsepower and 1,050 lb-ft; this engine is Standard with Limited trim. A high-output model produces 1,200 lb-ft of torque and 500 horsepower.

Starting with the XLT model (optional with the XL), all four engines are mated to a 10-speed automatic, and four-wheel drive is standard.

2024 Ford F250 Engine

Every Ford Super Duty truck runs V8 engines. A 6.8-liter gasoline V8 producing 405 horsepower and 445 lb-ft of torque is the standard engine. A 7.3-liter unit with 485 lb-ft of torque and 430 horsepower is the option. Both work with ordinary gasoline. The two turbocharged diesel engines have a 6.7-liter displacing capacity. The standard variant generates 1,050 lb-ft of torque and 475 horsepower. 500 horsepower and 1,200 lb-ft of torque are produced with the High Output variant. All are linked to a 10-speed automatic transmission. The standard configuration is rear-wheel drive; 4-wheel drive is also available.

2024 Ford F250 Payload

Towing ranges from 13,600 pounds (F-250 Crew Cab 4×4 with 6.8-liter V8) to a class-leading 40,000 pounds (F-450 Regular cab with High Output turbodiesel and gooseneck adaptor). A similarly unparalleled 8,000 pounds (achieved with an F-350 XL, rear-wheel drive, dual rear wheels, Regular cab, and the Heavy Duty Payload option) makes up the heaviest payload.

2024 Ford F250 Performance

What powers the F-250 Super Duty? We evaluated the F-250 with a high-powered 6.7-liter turbodiesel V8 engine. With its stated 1,200 lb-ft of torque, the F-250 had no trouble producing a growl.

Although somewhat slower than the F-250 we tested earlier, the F-250 is capable of reaching 60 mph in 7.2 seconds, quite competitive in its class. The 10-speed transmission never looks out of step or in the wrong gear, and the power plant is smooth. We don’t expect the F-250 to struggle or feel weighed down, even when towing or hauling.

For a heavy-duty pickup, the F-250’s steering and handling are typical in that they are soft and somewhat disconnected. Although turning the steering wheel is simple, the truck barely responds when you do.

To maneuver the truck in a parking lot, for example, you have to turn the wheel extensively. Despite leaning into corners, the F-250 is quiet enough that you won’t be thrown off on tight roads.

2024 Ford F250 Towing

How are the storage and towing? The F-250 has outstanding payload and towing ratings, which is what you would expect from a heavy-duty pickup. Though most layouts are rated between 3,000 and 4,000 pounds, the max capacity is listed at 4,268 pounds (standard cab with the base gasoline V8). Towing tops out for a standard trailer at 22,000 pounds or for a gooseneck at 23,000 pounds. Usually, setups fall between 14,000 and 20,000 pounds. Though it’s always close among this group of pickups, those are all quite outstanding numbers for the class.

Inside the cabin, the cargo room and storage are equally strong. For little things like sunglasses, phones, and more, there seems to be an infinite amount of boxes and cubbies. Everywhere you turn presents a tiny pocket of some kind. The cupholders really show great quality. There are many of them; the ones up front are big enough for wide water bottles. The Ford lacks the Ram’s fold-out panel to create a level cargo floor in the rear, but the seats still fold out of the way to create a big area for in-cabin storage. If you don’t need all of the room, the folding split-configuration rear seat lets you have a passenger in the rear as well. While installing a car seat should be somewhat easy, some may find the truck’s height problematic.

2024 F250 MPG: Real-World Fuel Economy

The fuel economy is how good? The EPA does not demand verified EPA fuel-economy ratings from heavy-duty vehicles like the Super Duty. That holds for pickups from Chevy, GMC, and Ram as well. Typical city driving with our truck’s high-output diesel V8 yielded roughly 14.5 mpg. Though it’s far worse than we have seen from light-duty vehicles like Ford’s own F-150, it is approximately what we have observed in the competition.

The 6.2-liter V-8 gasoline engine with a six-speed automatic transmission remains the standard configuration on the F-250 model, and the last one we tested delivered 15 mpg on the highway.

2024 F250 Diesel MPG By comparison, the gas-powered Chevy Silverado 2500HD delivered 14 mpg in the same test. We expect the optional Super Duty Power Stroke diesel engine to be the most fuel-efficient in its range.

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) does not mandate that manufacturers include mpg values for vehicles this size. Still, these large, formidable vehicles are clearly among the most thirsty ones on the road. Keep your expectations in the low teens.

2024 Ford F250: Three years/60,000-mile warranty

Whichever comes first, a 2024 Super Duty’s new vehicle warranty spans three years or 36,000 miles. Powertrains are covered for five years or 60,000 miles. During the same period, this guarantee runs to 100,000 miles for diesel engines. Typical terms for the HD truck class are as follows:

Safety

Generally speaking, trucks in this class are not subjected to the same crash tests as more mainstream cars. Still, the Super Duty addresses safety to a really high degree. Based on base models, we advise investing the $730 to include the Driver Assist package, which includes automatic high beams, forward collision warning, and automated emergency braking. Adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go and lane centering, a 360-degree video system, and a blind-spot monitoring system capable of working along the entire length of any trailer that might be linked are further active safety and driver-aid systems offered for the Super Duty series.

2024 Ford F250 Price

The starting sticker price for the 2024 Ford F250 Super Duty Regular Cab is $46,965; the range-topping F250 Super Duty Regular Cab XLT starts at $53,101. However, depending on trim and equipment, Kelley Blue Book Fair Purchase Pricing now advises spending $2,539 to $2,551 less than MSRP. We update these rates every week.

  • Fair Purchase Price (natal average) XL $46,965

Competitor: 2024 Ford F250

Although the Ford F-250 Super Duty received a total makeover last year, the revised Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD and GMC Sierra 2500HD present fresh competition. Though they still cannot quite match the Ford’s towing and carrying capacity, the Chevy and GMC provide greater power and better tech. You also could consider the Ram 2500 Heavy Duty, a nice truck that is beginning to lag in payload capacity and maximum tow.
