The dynamics of driving are also boring, and the 2022 Expedition always feels this big, which can cause anxiety when navigating narrow spaces or changing lanes in heavy traffic.
Ford has added the King Ranch trim to the Expedition for 2022, which is equipped with luxury items such as a retractable running board, 22-inch wheels, premium Del Rio leather seats, and real wood trim.
All Expedition models are now standard with the Ford 3 Sync infotainment system and the Co-Pilot360 suite of driver assistance features, which include automatic emergency braking, lane guard assistance, and blind-spot monitoring.
The Platinum Range-topping model receives a new 22-inch wheel design and leather seats that cover more cabins.
2022 Ford Expedition Redesign
In the redesign section, we see some changes to The 2022 Ford Expedition going through significant improvements in 2018, bringing a new, sharper look to this three-row SUV.
Apart from a few trims and feature updates, this full-size SUV has remained largely unchanged since the redesign. We expect the 2022 Expedition to be accumulated.

This power will go through a 10-speed automatic transmission on the way to the rear wheels. Four-wheel drive will be an option.
IIHS has not yet tested the new generation Expedition, but has gone through NHTSA testing and received an overall five-star rating.
The expedition also comes standard with much-advanced safety equipment, including blind-spot monitors, automatic emergency braking, and active track control.
We hope that the safety and equipment ratings will remain the same at Expedition 2022.
2022 Ford Expedition Interior
The Expedition’s interior has a square dashboard with large air vents and materials that increase with a slimmer level. Each Expedition also has 15 cupholders and foldable third-row seats.
Our Platinum test vehicle features are not available in lower trims such as multi-contour front seats with massage functions, leather door trim accents, real wood in the center console, and steering wheels wrapped in premium leather.
Although the inside is beautiful inside, plastic that looks cheap in the cabin is a striking and unacceptable violation of its price. Both Expeditionary models have spacious interiors and – unlike most other rivals – the third row will not torment adults.
While a three-seat bench is standard for the second row, a pair of captain’s chairs are optional. With three rows of chairs and two long body styles, Expedition and Expedition Max were made to transport people and property – lots of people and property.
Even though we only tested the expanded version, it has a competitive capacity and an unbeatable interior storage cubby. Each model has a third-row folding force that can be controlled from the cargo area or rear seat.
The second and third rows are folded completely flat for a flat floor, making it easier to load items.
The expedition is an infotainment sanctuary, with many connectivity options and many features available.
8.0-inch touch screen Sync infotainment system with Apple Car Play, Android Auto, and 4G LTE mobile hotspot is standard; navigation plus real-time traffic and additional weather costs.
The rear-seat entertainment system is available, but only in Limited, King Ranch and Platinum trim.
The expedition received a five-star crash-test rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration but has not been evaluated by the Insurance Institute for Road Safety. However, it has all the latest driver assistance technology.
2022 Ford Expedition Engine
On the engine side of 2022, the Ford Expedition is equipped with a 3.5-liter V-6 twin-turbocharged and 10-speed responsive automatic transmission that is paired with rear-wheel drive or all.
The XLT and Limited models have a 375-hp V-6 version, but at the top-level Platinum, it’s set to 400 horsepower.
Although we haven’t tested the basic engine, it won’t be faster than the 400-hp version we sampled on short and long-wheelbase models.
All Expeditions use the independent rear suspension which provides better ride and handling than the axle-life arrangement of the Chevrolet and GMC alternatives.
While passengers feel comfortable with a gentle ride, the driver is subject to sanctions due to unpleasant handling and improper steering.
Those who can afford top-of-the-line expeditions owe themselves to checking out the 10-class Mercedes-Benz GLS winner for the best overall driving experience.
2022 Ford Expedition MPG
This hefty carrier-class certainly does not help conserve fossil fuels.
Ford claims the EcoBoost engine (twin-turbocharged V-6) is more efficient than the V-8, but the Expedition did not fulfill that promise.
Rear-drive expeditions are rated by EPA in the city of 17 mpg and 24 highways; the all-wheel-drive version goes down to 22 highway.
Both the regular length expedition and the longer Max Expedition produce 20 mpg on the 200-mile highway fuel-efficient route.
While the Denon Yukon 420 hp failed, it also matches Ford’s tangible results.
2022 Ford Expedition Price and Release Date
Ford has not yet revealed the official sales date for the 2022 Expedition, but based on the previous release schedule, we expect the arrival of the fall of 2022.
Prices are not yet available, but the Expedition 2022 is likely to remain close to the current model of $ 54,505 to $ 81,805 (including destination fees) in the MSRP range.
