2024 Ford Raptor: Introducing New Ford Raptor Extreme Off-Road Performance Review

Posted on

2024 Ford Raptor officially gets the title of the most powerful pickup in the world. The Raptor R managed to take this title from its competitor, the Ram TRX 2024. Ford has released the latest 2024 edition of the F-150 Raptor R by providing a refresh in terms of its exterior appearance. Apart from its appearance, the manufacturer made it violent with significant power.

In terms of appearance, the Raptor R’s face looks more boxy or square. Meanwhile, you get the latest Pro Access Tailgate technology at the rear for several trims.

However, the main highlight of America’s best-selling pickup truck is its power or engine sector. Carrying a conventional 5.2 liter supercharged V8 engine, the Raptor R has a powerful 720 hp peak torque reaching 876 Nm.

The power is 20 hp more than the previous version. Even the 2024 Raptor R beats the 2024 Ram TRX with an 18-hp advantage. Ford revealed the addition of 20 HP as the result of optimized engine calibration, “air intake reduction,” or obtained from changes to the hood and body covering panels for more airflow to the air filter.

FYI, the engine under the hood of the 2024 Raptor R is the same engine used by Ford’s flagship muscle car, the latest Mustang Shelby GT500. The power of the ‘muscle’ car reaches 760 hp.

2024 Ford Raptor Review

The New 2024 Ford Raptor is a vehicle that provides a lot of pleasant sensational effects for its users. This is proven by the fact that the Ford Raptor received an award on the online media Caranddriver as the car selected by the “2024 Editor”. The 2024 Raptor can produce 450 horsepower from a twin-turbocharged V-6 engine mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission.

Meanwhile, the 2024 Raptor R model, the most powerful in its family, can produce a more powerful roar from its 720 hp supercharged V-8. Featuring an evolution of the installed dampers, the Fox’s new Dual Live Valve Raptor dampers and long-travel suspension make flying marshmallows over rough terrain smooth, and even when not rolling on a track, the ORV gives it the feel of a WRC rally car at its best.

2024 Ford Raptor

The Raptor’s incredibly comfortable ride makes it feel as refined as a highly tall luxury car, with the help of 37-inch tires and a modified bumper cap that Ford says increases capability. An optional LED light bar can also be mounted to this luxurious modular bumper.

Wider front tow hooks and new headlights make this pickup look fiercer. Shelter Green was also added as a new color for the Raptor. In addition, Ford is also increasing the power of the Raptor R in 2024, bringing the V-8’s output to 720 horsepower, an increase of 20 hp compared to last year.

New Ford Raptor 2024

We can see where the updated F-150 is from its slightly revised grille and headlights. But what’s more important is what’s inside. All F-150s now get a complete digital gauge cluster and a 12-inch central touchscreen as standard.

Other technology improvements include updates to BlueCruise, Ford’s hands-free driving assistance system, to make it more valuable and helpful in highway traffic. Under the hood, a turbocharged 2.7-liter V6 is the truck’s base engine.

Additionally, the Raptor R’s supercharged 5.2-liter V8 engine gets a power increase, and pricing for the optional PowerBoost hybrid has been reduced to the same as the optional turbocharged 3.5-liter V6. There’s also a new optional rear door that can be opened as an additional way to make cargo loading easier.

Few vehicles have consistently dominated their segments as often as the Ford F-150. The success of Ford’s light pickup truck is due in part to the nearly endless configurations it offers. Whether you’re looking for an affordable work truck, a luxury cruiser, or a capable off-roader, the F-150 covers you.

It offers various engines, from a base V6 to a potent hybrid powertrain. You can choose from several cab and bed sizes as well as many features, including the Pro Power Onboard system, which can supply power to various electronic devices. And for 2024, the F-150 looks even better thanks to its most significant update since the next-generation truck debuted for the 2021 model year.

2024 Ford Raptor Interior

The interior of the 2024 Ford Raptor has the same design layout and passenger space as the regular F-150 SuperCrew. The high-performance version has a 12.0-inch digital gauge cluster, offering more interior storage space and excellent materials. The steering wheel sports a laser-etched logo and races car-style orange markings at noon, where prominent aluminum paddle shifters hide behind the spokes.

Along with standard aluminum interior trim, the Raptor has optional carbon fiber interior accents and more aggressively reinforced Recaro front buckets. The high-flying pickup is no longer offered in an extended cab (aka SuperCab) body style. At least the SuperCrew crew cab version offers more space in the back seat. It pairs with a 5.5-foot cargo box.

Infotainment and Connectivity

RaptRaptor’sor’shboard is a 12.0-inch touchscreen that supports tructruck’sck’sndard Sync 4 infotainment system. In addition to the ability to interact with Amazon Alexa and receive over-the-air updates, it also features wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. We also appreciate that Ford included physical volume and tuning knobs to complement the steering wheel controls and voice commands. Those looking to upgrade their audio experience can opt for an 18-speaker B&O sound system.

The Raptor can also be equipped with a 2.0 kW mobile generator mounted in the cargo bed and can run power tools and other equipment.

Comfort

Although some 2024 Ford F-150 seats may be too firm, the 2024 Ford Raptor seats remain comfortable even for the most extended journey range of adjustability, with plenty of lumbar support and decent support to hold you in place. The front seats get heating and ventilation, while a heated steering wheel and rear seats are optional.

The heating function works well, and the automatic climate control quickly cools or heats the cabin.

Unique to the Raptor (among F-150s) is a rear coil spring suspension that provides a better-than-usual ride, especially when combined with the big, bump-absorbing 37-inch tires our test truck had.

As a result, tire noise is slightly higher, but wind noise is kept at a low volume. The turbocharged V6 gets a specially tuned exhaust in the Raptor – throaty and somewhat satisfying but not as exciting as the supercharger in the TRX.

Tech

The F-150 offers many impressive tech features, and the Raptor gets most of them as standard. The 12-inch center touchscreen and digital gauge cluster are attractive and easy to use. Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay smartphone integration are standard, as are advanced driver aids like adaptive cruise control and blind-spot warning with trailer reach.

Switching to the Baja truck’s driving mode when you’re off-roading means you have full access to the front camera with no speed restrictions, and that’s pretty cool.

Ford’s Pro Power Onboard generator system is available on the Raptor. The output is limited to 2 kW, but it should be enough to power many household appliances or electrical equipment you take camping or traveling.

2024 Ford Raptor Exterior

Like the rest of the F-150 lineup, the 2024 F-150 Raptor models have received a subtle visual facelift. The exterior of the Ford F-150 Raptor remains as aggressive as ever, with a unique wide black grille to differentiate this high-performance model from the regular F-150. Forged front tow hooks and LED headlights are standard, while the more powerful Raptor R has a power dome on the hood, one of several styling changes unique to this variant. A new symmetrical hood graphic is available for both Raptors, while the R gets exceptional graphics above the wheel lip moldings. Another change is a new modular front bumper compatible with accessories, while additional lights can be fitted to these Raptors.

As before, the Raptor can be equipped with 37-inch tires (these are standard on the R) for maximum off-road capability, and there are dual exhaust outlets at the rear. The regular Raptor gets 35-inch tires by default, and both have 17-inch wheels. For 2024, the Ford F-150 Raptor color lineup now includes Shelter Green. Agate Black, Antimatter Blue, Carbonized Grey, Oxford White, Avalanche, and Rapid Red are other colors available.

Ford has introduced the new Pro Access Tailgate, the first fully open 100-degree integrated swing gate in its segment. However, whether this feature is available on the Raptor is still being determined.

2024 Ford Raptor Dimension

While the regular F-150 comes in various body styles, the new Ford F-150 Raptor pickup truck only has access to the SuperCrew body style with a 5.5-foot base. Other critical dimensions for the Ford F-150 Raptor include a wheelbase of 145.4 inches and a body length of 232.6 inches, without the mirrmirroit’sit’seady 86.6 inches wide (87 inches for the Raptor R), and with the mirrors exteextendyou’llu’lle to be careful in tight lanes because the Raptor is 96 inches wide. The Raptor is 79.8 inches tall, while the R is 80.6 inches tall.

Configured for off-road, the Raptor has an impressive ground clearance of 12 inches, rising to 13.1 inches for the R. The R also has the best approach/departure/breakover specifications at 33.1/24.9/24.4 respectively degrees.

Regarding curb weight, the 2023 Raptor weighs the lightest at 5,740 pounds, while the Raptor R tips the scales at 5,950 pounds. We expect the same for the 2024 version.

2024 Ford Raptor Engine

Under the 2024 Ford Raptor hood is the familiar high-output version of the 3.5-liter twin-turbo 450-hp EcoBoost V-6 engine. It breathes through a 3.0-inch exhaust system that makes the V-6 emit a deep growl, but its exhalation pales compared to the V-8’s rumble.

The V-6 is still paired with a 10-speed paddle-shifted automatic transmission that drives all four wheels via the standard four-wheel drive system. Raptor R is a giant predator. It uses a supercharged 5.2-liter V-8 engine, which produces about 720 horsepower and 640 pound-feet of torque.

Along with other chassis upgrades, a choice of 17-inch rims, and standard 35-inch tires, the Raptor is also available with a set of 37-inch BFGoodrich All-Terrain T. K02 all-terrain tires for better approach, departure, and breakover angles. The Raptor R comes standard with 37s, which add 1.1 inches of ground clearance, raising the Raptor R’s belly to a height of 13 inches above the Earth.

Every Raptor rides on an advanced suspension with Fox internal bypass dampers and a five-link rear coil spring setup.

However, only options with 37-inch tires get the new Fox Dual Live Valve shock with continuously variable rebound control. Tuned by the Ford Performance team, the dampers promise a more innovative, smoother ride.

The final Raptor demonstrated the truck’s outstanding traction and ride quality even on the most treacherous terrain. The Raptor sprints to 60 mph in just 3.6 seconds.

Performance

The 2024 Raptor is rated at 450 hp, but our ttruttruck’sck’sional 37-inch tire package hampered straight-line performance. This truck can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 5.8 seconds, but only as fast as an F-150 with a regular 400-hp V6 engine or a hybrid powertrain. The Ram 1500 TRX beats it with a 4.2-second sprint. Luckily, the 10-speed automatic transmission provides smooth, quick shifts to make everyday driving easier.

The F-150 has direct and fast steering. This makes the truck feel maneuverable in parking lots and stable on the highway. However, the brakes are another story, requiring 149 feet to stop the Raptor from 60. That’s a distance usually reserved for heavy-duty pickup trucks, and we can blame the off-road tires; it is a pretty long distance.

If you can reach RaptRaptor’sor’s-road potential limitations. With a locking differential, available 37-inch tires, and a more comprehensive, long-travel suspsuspensithere’sre’sost no place in the world this isn’t

However, the weakness is that it is narrow. This truck is best used in wide-open spaces, not on narrow mountain trails.

2024 Ford Raptor MPG

The EPA estimates the 2024 F-150 Raptor’s fuel economy to be 14 mpg in the city and 18 mpg on the highway. The V-8-powered Raptor R predictably has lower estimates at ten mpg in the city and 15 highways.

Last year’s Raptor R with 37-inch tires aced fuel economy tests at 16 mpg. All Ford F-150 Raptor and Raptor R models have a 36-gallon fuel tank.

2024 Ford Raptor Payload

We are delighted with the payload results of the 2024 Ford Raptor and Ford F-150 Raptor R, which can tow up to 8,700 pounds, while the maximum towing capacity of the standard Raptor is 8,200 pounds. The maximum payload is 1,400 pounds for both.

Compare that to the specs of a normal F-150, and you’ll see the Raptor has given up its towing capabilities in favor of its off-road capabilities. By comparison, an F-150 with a 400-hp twin-turbo 3.5-liter V-6 engine can tow up to 14,000 pounds, an F-150 with a 5.0-liter V-8 can tow up to 13,000 pounds, and a hybrid model can tow load up to 13,000 pounds to 12,700.

Payload capacities range from 1,840 to 3,250 pounds on non-Raptor versions. But the Raptor is certainly more incredible than the appearance.

Competitor

Changes made for 2024 help keep the F-150 at the peak of its performance and ensure it remains at the top of our truck rankings. But if you still need to decide which truck to choose, look no further than the Ram 1500. It’s currently the F-150’s most competitive rival and is the smoothest pickup to drive. The recently redesigned Toyota Tundra is also worth a look, and the F-150’s old foe, the Chevrolet Silverado 1500, has much to offer.

2024 Ford Raptor Models

The 2024 Ford F-150 has six primary trim levels: XL, STX, XLT, Lariat, Platinum, and King Ranch. Off-road-oriented versions of the Tremor, Raptor, and Raptor R fall outside the traditional lineup.

There are three regular cab models, SuperCab (extended) and SuperCrew (crew cab) — and three-bed lengths depending on cab style. Along with many trim levels and cabin styles, the F-150 offers six available powertrains. All are paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission.

The machine range includes:

  1. V6 2,7 liter turbocharged (325 hp, 400 lb-ft)
  2. V8 5,0 liter (400 hp, 410 lb-ft)
  3. V6 3,5 liter turbocharged (400 hp, 500 lb-ft)
  4. V6 3,5 liter turbocharged Khusus Raptor (450 hp, 510 lb-ft)
  5. V8 5,2 liter supercharged khusus Raptor R (720 hp, 640 lb-ft)
  6. Hybrid powepowertraFord’srd’serBoost) combining a turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 with an electric motor and battery pack (430 hp, 570 lb-ft)

Raptor

The off-road-oriented Raptor includes a higher-output 3.5-liter turbocharged V6 engine, 4WD with low-range gearing, and more. In general, it combines many of the luxury-oriented features of the King Ranch with the off-road features of the Tremor, plus:

17-inch alloy wheels with 35-inch all-terrain tires
Raptor-specific off-road suspension with adaptive Fox shock absorbers
Raptor-specific fender flares and grille

Raptor R

The Raptor R swaps the RaptRaptor’sor’sbocharged V6 for a much more powerful supercharged V8. It also comes standard with 37-inch tires, an option on the regular Raptor.

As you might expect from a full-size pickup, the F-150 has many options. Most lower trim levels can be equipped with standard options on higher trims. Other essential options to look out for are:

Onboard Pro Power
Adds household-style plugs that can be used for power tools, electronics, or small appliances
Available with three power ratings: 2 kW, 2.4 kW and 7.2 kW (hybrid engines only)
Mobile Office Plan
Foldable center console work surface
Wireless phone charger
package FX4
Rear axle with electronic locking
Suspension tuned for off-road
Skid plate
All-terrain tires
Towing/Haul Package
Integrated trailer brake controller (allows trailer brake adjustment from inside the vehicle)
Onboard Scale (measures and displays F-150 payload weight)

2024 Ford Raptor Price

The standard 2024 F-150 Raptor will start at $80,325 and go up to $111,550, depending on trim and options. The various configurations on the F-150 Raptor model are only offered with a crew cab body style called SuperCrew. Deciding between the more affordable EcoBoost V-6 model and the big motor V-8 Raptor R is a tough decision.

If we look at the calculations objectively, the numbers show that the base price of the Raptor R is about 40 percent more expensive than the base price of ao’reg’reg’lar’tor. However, the R also makes about 55 percent more horsepower.

This is the right choice if you want fearsome acceleration and peak performance. Opting for the R package also means Raptor R graphics, appliqués, and badging, plus unlocking other options, including the Raptor Carbon Fiber Package. The glorious wail of that supercharged V-8 is the highlight.

2024 Ford Raptor Release Date

Revealed in September 2023, the Ford F-150 release date is expected to be before the end of the year.

Verdict

The Ford Raptor is an excellent off-roader packed with modern features. This is a trophy truck for the street. However, this model has a steep price tag that can’t haul as much as a regular F-150.

Previous Part

2024 Ford Raptor Recently, an online media outlet, Ford Authority, informed us that it has received many letters asking when the next generation Ford Ranger will be launched in North America as Ford has already debuted the next generation Ranger in several world markets.

Some customers in the US should expect to see the all-new generation Ranger arrive as a 2024 model-year vehicle. This means the 2023 Ford Ranger will be the last year of the current generation model to receive the Splash Package, Jungle Splash Package, and Splash Limited Edition.

The current generation Ford Ranger is expected to remain in production until April 2023 at the Michigan Assembly Plant, after which assembly of the next generation 2024 Ford Ranger will begin approximately in May 2023.

Even with the all-new model set to remain in production for eight years, it was exclusively reported earlier this year, though noting that it would change that timeline if it deemed fit.

Since then, the new generation Ford Ranger has been announced globally, and the next generation Ranger features a digital instrument cluster as standard, leaving the old-school analog instrument cluster in favor of a fully customizable eight-inch display.

The Ford Ranger 2024 offers a choice of a standard 10.1-inch infotainment screen or an optional 12-inch screen, depending on owner preferences.

2024 Ford Raptor Review

2024 Ford Raptor equipped with 700 horsepower. The F-150 Raptor R is the most powerful ever for high-performance off-roading today.

According to Ford Media, Ford unveiled the new F-150 ® Raptor R ™ the fastest, most powerful, most extreme high-performance off-road desert Raptor, after more than a decade of traversing harsh conditions and conquering massive dunes for three generations of off-road trucks.

All three generations of the F-150 Raptor have been inspired by the extreme desert racing trophy trucks competing in the Baja 1000. Designed and engineered by Ford Performance, the F-150 Raptor R 2023 is the closest to delivering this performance.

Carl Widmann, the chief engineer at Ford Performance, said: “When” customers “eel” th” Raptor R in the desert and beyond, it makes their hairs stand on end – they every of it.

  • Orders are open today for the new F-150® Raptor R™ 2023, the most potent F-150 Raptor ever, featuring a new 5.2-liter supercharged V8 producing 700 horsepower and 640 lb.-ft. torque for more extreme off-road
  • Next-level trail conquering capabilities begin with a long-travel suspension featuring FOX Live Valve shocks tuned explicitly to harness the power of tructruck’sck’slexclusitruck’sdard-classlassinch tires and best-in-class ground clearance, offer increased confidence and control over rough terrain
  • Supercharged V8 power accentuated by the RapRRapR’s R’sque stylstyliR’snnetnneter dome and desert-inspired graphics; black interior enhanced by genuine carbon fiber streaked with signature Ford Performance Code Orange accents

2024 Ford Raptor Specs

The next-generation Ford Ranger is preferable as a truck as it will feature a wider bed than the current-generation model and a myriad of storage and management solutions to make the cargo-hauling process smoother and more comfortable.

The truck also offers 360-degree load and zone lighting, making it easier to unload or load gear in the dark, and the tailgate features built-in rulers and clamp pockets, turning the next-generation Ranger into a mobile workbench.

Perhaps the most exciting change on the way to the Ford Ranger 2024 is the addition of the Ford Ranger Raptor as a high-performance variant. A Ford 3.0L EcoBoost V6 will power the upcoming Ranger Raptor, as Ford Authority was the first to report last year.

While the exact output figures are unknown, we expect the twin-turbo six to dump around 400 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque. The same engine in the T6 Ranger platform partner and the 2022 Ford Bronco Raptor produces 418 horsepower and 440 pound-feet of torque.

We also expect the 2024 Ford Ranger in a SuperCrew cabin with four full-size doors and five-foot or six-foot-high beds. Although not confirmed, the SuperCab option (which has a full-size front door and two half-rear doors) will likely not be offered in the US or Canada.

2024 Ford Raptor Rendering

The talented 2024 Ford Raptor digital car renderer Oscar Vargas had his hand in creating the Raptor R right before it was first launched to the world; he did some digging on the truck pricing.

Vargas was considering trading his FX4 for the Raptor R, but not after he saw tructruck’sck’sessive truck as suhesuhe’she’sided to file a pickup truck from his rendering of the Raptor R with lots of gold bullion, a subtle dig that only the rich can afford. There’s too much difference between the render and the original truck. Vargas has used a pretty striking dark blue color scheme in its renders, with the terrain pattern on the back of the truck in white and the letters Raptor above.

The R is red to emphasize that this is a Raptor R. The dark blue works pretty well, especially with the all-black front fascia, which includes the grille area, FORD lettering, and the front slip plate. This is a threatening-looking truck.

2024 Ford Raptor Interior and Exterior Design

The most potent Raptor yet carries a custom-built off-road truck design heritage, with a unique styling that further pushes its supercharged capabilities home.

The hood’s more enormous, aggressive power dome sits nearly 1 inch higher than the base Raptor, helping extract warm air from below. The iconic FORD grille, bumper, and fender flares painted black underline its menacing appearance.

Ford Performance exclusive Code Orange accents include a uni”u,”  “R,” “a”ge on the”g”  “l”, “”power dome, and tailgate.

The custom graphics pack on the rear fender features a unique design reflecting the harsh, cracked desert soil, amplifying the environment the Raptor R was built to conquer.

That aggressive feel carries over to the black interior. The standard Recaro® seat combines black leather and Alcantara® suede cleverly placed for added grip when the terrain gets rough.

Genuine carbon fiber adorns the doors, media tray doors, and the top of the instrument panel, featuring a unique tri-axial weave designed to deliver the RapRRapR’s R’sbination performance R’sfR’sformancendcendability.

Like the rest of the Raptor family, the Raptor R comes with intelligent technologies to make off-roading easier.

Trail Turn Assist allows the driver to reduce the turning radius on sharp turns and go further off-road. Ford Trail Control™ thinks cruise control for off-road enables the driver to choose a set speed and drive through challenging conditions while the truck handles throttle and braking.

Trail 1- Pedal Drive allows customers to control throttle and braking with just one pedal, making extreme off-roading such as rock crawling easier.

The standard 12-inch touchscreen with SYNC ® 4 technology, Apple CarPlay ®, and Android Auto ™ compatibility keeps you connected. The Raptor R also benefits from FPowFPower-Up’sUovPower-Up’srover-thePower-Up’sareilitiestiesese wireless upgrades that can offer improvements across the vehicle – from the SYNC system to quality, capability, and convenience upgrades that enhance the ownership experience over time.

The F-150 Raptor R will be available in eight color options, including the Avalanche exterior paint and the new Azure Gray Tri-Coat offered on the Raptor lineup for the first time.

Next, the Ford Raptor Raptor R

The 2024 Ford Raptor R features a 10-speed SelectShift transmission with improved calibration, which will indeed have a new front axle with a more robust, higher-strength carrier casting and aluminum ribbed structural cover to manage the added torque of the powertrain as well as a unique larger diameter aluminum driveshaft.

A new specially tuned torque converter with heavy-duty turbine dampers and a four-pinion rear output assembly makes the truck more ready to transfer torque. It provides a smoother powertrain feel when driving both on-road and off-road.

Drivers gain even more control over how their Raptor R expresses its added power thanks to a unique dual exhaust system with true pass-through exhaust and an active valve system with modes for Normal, Sport, Quiet, and Baja.

This is customizable in the MyMode™ feature, allowing the driver to adjust multiple settings, including ride mode, steering, suspension, and more, and save them as a single mode, which is easily accessible by pressing “h,” “R,” “u” to ” “”” ” “s”e”   “i”g w”e” e” five-link rear suspension features extra-long trailing arms for better axle positioning in rough terrain, Panhard rods and 24-inch coil springs are all optimized for outstanding stability when traversing desert terrain at high speeds.

The advanced FOX Live Valve shocks are tuned to balance ride quality and roll-on and off-road control.

This electronically controlled damper uses a suspension height sensor and other sensors to independently monitor terrain conditions hundreds of times per second while adjusting the suspension settings accordingly. The 13-inch front and 14.1-inch rear wheel travel facilitate the RapRRapR’s R’slabiltR’sravR’seRsandtravR’sek’sekh incredible ability.

Each driving mode is tuned to account for the added power of the supercharged V8, including the Baja mode, which is optimized for maximum performance and control in high-speed off-road terrain.

A 5% increase in front spring speed helps maintain a comfortable ride quality. At the same time, the Raptor R offers class-leading 13.1-inch ground clearance and exclusive standard-grade 37-inch tires straight from the factory for better obstacle clearance.

New Performance Ford Raptor Engine

The Raptor R has a new 5.2-liter supercharged V8 engine that produces 700 horsepower and 640 lb.-ft. Torque provides incredible power for running in the desert.

Ford Performance uses the most powerful engine in its lineup, previously seen in the Mustang Shelby GT500, optimizing it for Raptor-level off-road performance and Built Ford Tough durability. The result is the most torque-dense supercharged V8 ever in a production pickup.

In this case, Ford Performance also recalibrated the V8 engine supercharger by installing a new pulley to optimize its power in the focus of use on off-road terrain. This calibration will also improve torque delivery in the low-end and mid-range.

The changes could help the Raptor R offer more performance at speeds where drivers can spend most of their time driving safely.

Ford Performance upgraded the original engine exhaust manifold to stainless steel to maintain extreme off-road endurance. It includes a unique oil cooler and filter with a deeper oil pan to tackle aggressive grades while keeping engine oil cool.

Ford did this to help the engine breathe better; the air intake volume was increased by 66% through wider air inlets and a conical air filter with higher flow and efficiency.
