2026 Ford Mach E: Ford’s best effort so far is the 2026 Ford Mach-E, which electric vehicle customers should consider. The beautiful, high-tech Mustang Mach-E electric SUV is back this August with a new lease option that makes it even more affordable. It has great performance qualities.
For many drivers, the value of an electric automobile is still the most important thing. The Mach-E is already an excellent car with fast acceleration, a lot of space inside, and a lot of technology. However, Ford’s new models make it even harder to ignore. August’s choices make Ford’s flagship electric crossover more appealing to people who desire all-wheel-drive performance or a cheaper way to drive an EV.
In this scenario, Ford had two Mustang Mach-E models at reasonable prices.
The New Mustang Mach-E Premium AWD with Extended Battery can also be leased for $259 a month for 36 months through Ford Credit’s Red Carpet Lease program. A $4,219 payment is needed at signing. You don’t have to pay the security deposit, but you do have to pay taxes, title, and license costs.
Ford also sells the 2026 Mustang Mach-E Select RWD with the Standard Range battery for $399 a month on a 36-month lease, with a down payment of just $399 at signing. This is for purchasers who want to own a Mach-E with the lowest feasible down payment. This deal also comes with a free two-year maintenance plan, giving you even more peace of mind.
This option gives consumers options: they can choose Premium AWD for the best range and performance, or Select RWD if they want to keep costs down initially.
2026 Ford Mach E Reviews
The 2026 Ford Mustang Mach-E is the fifth model year of the first generation of this electric crossover. It has a new heat pump, a new Sport Appearance Package, and numerous new sets of wheels, among other things.
These upgrades came after the 2024 Ford Mustang Mach-E, which also saw some updates.
The Ford Mustang Mach-E Select comes with a 264-horsepower electric powertrain, a 1-speed automatic transmission, 4-wheel anti-lock brakes (ABS), the Connected Navigation integrated navigation system with voice activation, side-seat airbags, first- and second-row overhead airbags, rear side-impact airbags, a driver’s knee airbag, an airbag occupancy sensor, air conditioning, 19″ aluminum alloy wheels, cruise control, Adaptive Cruise Control distance adjustment, AdvanceTrac ABS, and driveline traction control.
The Mustang Mach-E is an electric crossover resembling Ford’s famous muscle car. The tiny SUV is brand new for 2021, and it comes back this year with even more upgrades after getting a crazy Rally off-road option last year. The Mustang Mach-E is one of the first electric compact SUVs on the market. Other competitors in this category include the Hyundai Ioniq 5, the Toyota bZ4X, and the Tesla Model Y.
English: The term “Mustang” means power and performance, and the 2026 Ford Mustang Mach-E plays up to that name and adds its own electric vehicle twist. The GT and Rally are the fastest variants. They have up to 480 horsepower and can go from 0 to 60 mph in less than 4.0 seconds. That’s faster than the real Mustang muscle car with a V-8 engine.
The Mach-E is also great as an electric vehicle (EV). In its most efficient form, a single-motor, rear-wheel-drive model with the bigger Extended battery pack, it can drive up to 320 miles on a single charge. Inside, there are many modern infotainment and convenience amenities, and there is enough room for four adults and their bags.
Also, if you need more room for your stuff, the front trunk is a good size and may be used as a cooler for food and drinks when camping or tailgating. The Ford Mustang Mach-E is one of our favorite cars in its class, thus it made it onto our Editors’ Choice list for 2026.
- Riding is fun
- A big, thick tree trunk

Read about all the modifications, tweaks, and new 2026 Ford Mustang Mach-E features.
What’s New in 2026?
This year, Ford has dramatically cut the costs of all Mustang Mach-E versions. All Mach-E versions now come with a new heat pump that helps warm the cabin and makes the car work better in cold weather. Versions with Ford’s BlueCruise hands-free driving mode also get new features, including automated lane changes.
The Premium trim now has a new Sport Appearance option, making it look more like the more expensive GT variant. The infotainment system has also been improved. Models with the Connectivity package now have a 5G-powered Wi-Fi hotspot, additional apps (including YouTube), and better navigation.
There are now three new colors: Molten Magenta Metallic, Velocity Blue Metallic, and Desert Sand, and three new wheel designs.
- The steering column now has the gear lever instead of the center console.
- Normal heat pump
- The Premium trim comes with ventilated front seats as standard, and there is a Sport trim..
- Appearance package available.
- You may get the Ford Connectivity Package, which includes a Wi-Fi hotspot, navigation, and access to apps like YouTube.
- BlueCruise 1.5 and new subscription plans
- Molten Magenta Metallic Tinted Clearcoat, Velocity Blue Metallic, and Desert Sand are some of the hues you can choose from for the outside.
- The Rally versions now have three additional wheel options, including Dark Carbonized Grey wheels.
What We Think
People have praised the Mustang Mach-E for how fun it is to drive. The AWD variant can handle corners well, while the RWD model has a nice oversteer. It handles well, but we were surprised by how noisy the wind and road were on the highway.
The GT’s performance goes down after you drive it to its limits, but the Performance Edition upgrades you can get on this model are well worth the money. Neither version of the Mach-E has enough ground clearance to be labeled an SUV, but the Rally model is still great on dirt roads.
The range is average, but it should be enough for most individuals. It takes a long time to charge. Most owners would like the Mach-E to have a lot of room for goods and luggage. The inside is too simple, like a Tesla, but the space could be used better.
The touchscreen is the same way; it doesn’t make the most of its 15.5-inch screen. The glass roof, which seems high-tech, can make the interior feel hot in the sun, so drivers have to turn up the air conditioning.
The Mustang Mach-E is a good electric SUV, but not the best pick. Cesla and Hyundai competitors can charge their cars faster and drive longer on a single charge.
2026 Ford Mach E Interior
The Mustang Mach-E’s battery is situated between the car’s floor and the undercarriage, like a skateboard. This gives passengers and luggage a lot of room. The streamlined dashboard has a nice digital gauge cluster with a big, vertical touchscreen.
The pocket under the floating flip-up armrest between the front seat passengers is big enough to hold a wallet. Behind the back seats, there is 29 cubic feet of cargo room. If you fold the back seats down, you can get up to 60 cubic feet of space.
The long list of standard and optional equipment includes adjustable ambient lighting, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, wireless charging, a panoramic sunroof, and a hard plastic-covered front trunk that can be used as a cooler before cleaning and drying.
There are two rows of three seats in the 2026 Ford Mustang Mach-E, which can hold five people. This setup has two front bucket seats and three second-row seats.
Infotainment and Connectivity
Ford’s next-generation Sync infotainment system incorporates machine learning to ensure each driver has a unique experience. It can now handle three driver profiles and one guest profile.
The Mustang Mach-E uses this software on a 15.5-inch touchscreen that is positioned vertically, making it easy to access different programs and system features. Ford will periodically send updates over the air to improve the system and provide new material. Some of the most important features are
Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, a mobile Wi-Fi hotspot, and a Bang & Olufsen audio system.
2026 Ford Mach E Models
The 2026 Ford Mustang Mach-E continues to be offered in rear-wheel drive (RWD) or all-wheel drive (AWD) across the following model lines:
- Select
- Premium
- GT
2026 Ford Mach E Engine
The 2026 Ford Mustang Mach-E can be ordered with different powertrains and either a Standard-Range or Extended-Range battery. The electric crossover’s range is about 247 miles with the Standard-Range battery in RWD.
It has 266 horsepower and 317 pound-feet of torque. On the other hand, AWD has 266 horsepower and 428 pound-feet of torque and can go about 224 miles on a full tank. The Extended Range battery, available only with AWD, gives you 480 horsepower and 600 pound-feet of torque and lets you drive for 270 miles.
2026 Ford Mach E Battery Life
The EPA says that the whole lineup can travel between 250 and 320 miles on a single charge, depending on the size of the battery and the number of electric motors. These stats aren’t as good as Tesla’s longest-range models but align with the range numbers for crossovers from other big brands. Ford notes that every Mach-E comes with fast-charging capability.
The integrated mobile home charging station may add “up to 30 miles of range per night” when plugged into a 120-volt household outlet. You can plug the mobile unit into a 240-volt outlet, charging the battery to 80% of its capacity “overnight.” Ford also sells a stronger home charging station that needs to be set up by a licensed electrician. The Mach-E’s battery gets up to 28 miles of range for every hour it is charged when plugged into the device.
2026 Ford Mach E EV Motors
The Mustang Mach-E comes with either a standard-range 70.0 kWh battery or an extended-range 91.0 kWh pack. For the Select and Premium RWD versions, it powers one electric motor. For the AWD versions of all four trims, it powers one motor on each axle. The standard GT and GT Performance versions only come with all-wheel drive.
Their motors work together to produce 480 horsepower and up to 634 pound-feet of torque. The enhanced GT Performance and Mach-E Rally variants produce 700 pound-feet of torque. Models with less power and rear-wheel drive produce 266 or 290 horsepower and 387 pound-feet of torque.
The Select and Premium models with all-wheel drive (AWD) make between 266 and 346 horsepower and 427 or 428 pound-feet of torque. Our most recent test of the Mach-E, an all-wheel drive vehicle with a more extended range, showed that Ford was faster and nimble than most competitors. The Mach-E has many great features, runs quietly, and rides smoothly, in addition to having different power levels.
0–60 MPH Time
In our tests, the Mach-E Rally went from 0 to 60 mph (96 km/h) in 3.3 seconds. This is faster than the Mach-E GT Performance from 2021, which went from 0 to 60 mph (96 km/h) in 3.7 seconds. But we haven’t tried the GT with its most recent performance improvements yet.
Performance
You may have the Mustang Mach-E with rear-wheel drive (RWD) or all-wheel drive (AWD) and a basic or extended-range battery. Most setups come with either the Select or Premium model. The AWD variant with the standard battery can go 230 miles, while the RWD version with the extended-range battery can go 320 miles.
The GT and Rally versions have all-wheel drive (AWD) and a bigger battery. The GT can go 280 miles, and the Rally can do 265 miles.
With the right fast charger, the regular range model can charge up to 110 kW, and the extended range variant can charge up to 150 kW. In around 38 minutes, a standard Level 3 charger can charge a battery from 10% to 80%. It can take 12 to 14 hours to charge a Level 2 battery to 100%.
The Mach-E’s power varies from 246 hp for the regular RWD model to 480 hp for the GT and Rally variants. The lesser AWD variant has a basic battery of 325 hp and an extended-range battery of 365 hp.
How Fast Is the Mustang Mach-E
The Rally model, the family’s newest member, attained 60 mph in 3.3 seconds in MT testing, breaking the Mustang record. It was as fast as a pony car. That’s 0.3 seconds faster than the best GT, which used to be the fastest Mach-E, and 0.4 seconds faster than the Mustang Dark Horse variant we tested that runs on gas. The rear-wheel-drive versions are substantially slower. It took the Premium version we tested 6.0 seconds to get to 60 mph, which is a little slower.
What does the Mach-E Premium Sport Appearance Package do?
You can now make your 2026 Mustang Mach-E Premium seem like Ford’s more expensive GT variant. The Premium trim’s Sport Appearance kit has a GT front fascia, red Brembo front brake calipers, 19-inch gloss black alloys, and black door sills and wheel arches. Changes to the cabin include red stitching and sport pedals.
2026 Ford Mach E MPG
The EPA says the base rear-wheel-drive Mustang Mach-E gets up to 110 MPGe in the city and 96 MPGe on the interstate. The GT Performance model, which is the best of the best, gets the worst gas mileage, at 90 MPGe in the city and 77 MPGe on the highway.
We haven’t tested the 2024 Mach-E on the highway route that gets the best gas mileage at 75 mph yet, so we don’t know how far it can go in the real world.
2026 Ford Mach E Security
Ford included Automatic Lane Change in version 1.5 of the BlueCruise with the 2026 Mustang Mach-E. Under specific scenarios, like when the car in front is going slower than a set speed, this feature lets BlueCruise start a lane change. This year, people who want to buy BlueCruis can select between a one-time purchase and a one-year membership.
Co-Pilot360 offers automatic high beams, lane keeping, adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alerts. It also has automatic emergency braking in the front and back.
The NHTSA gave the 2026 Mustang Mach-E a five-star overall safety rating, which means it did well in crash tests. The IIHS gave the 2024 Mustang Mach-E a Good rating for crashworthiness, and the 2026 model is projected to do almost as well.

2026 Ford Mach E Price
The 2026 Ford Mustang Mach-E’s price ranges from $39,990 to $57,990, depending on the specification and extras. The Mach-E is excellent with the Premium model, which is far more luxurious than the less costly Select trim. Ford says that the Premium has a range of 320 miles when paired with the extended-range battery and rear-wheel drive. However, we would still choose the all-wheel drive version with a shorter projected range of 290 miles.
Ford claimed that the 2026 Mustang Mach-E delivery will start early this year. The car company also said the starting price will be about $38,500, including a $1,995 delivery fee. This means this year’s base model is less expensive than last year’s. The base model of the 2024 Select RWD costs about $42,000.
2026 Ford Mach E Release Date
Production: The Cuautitlan Assembly factory in Mexico will start making the 2026 Ford Mustang Mach-E on January 6, 2026.
Verdict
The Mustang Mach-E combines the Mustang’s aggressive looks and fast acceleration with the EV’s efficiency and the SUV’s usefulness.
Ford’s August leasing deals make the Mustang Mach-E one of the greatest electric cars on the market. The Premium AWD and the Select RWD show Ford is trying to make its electric SUV more affordable. The Premium AWD has low monthly payments, and the Select RWD has a very low upfront outlay.
The Mach-E is still the best choice since it has a sleek design, Mustang-like performance, and a modern, high-tech cabin. This deal for August could be what drivers waiting for the right time to switch to an electric car need to leap.
