2026 Ford F 250: This car is undoubtedly bigger and better than before. We think that will happen when the really tough 2026 Ford F-250 comes out. It has many improvements.
The F-Series Super Duty portfolio now includes the 2026 Ford F-250 and the F-350. The Super Duty vehicle still has a 500-hp Power Stroke diesel engine with 1,200 lb-ft of torque, and the powertrains haven’t been altered. The Ram 2500 Heavy Duty pickup truck, the Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD, and the GMC Sierra 2500HD are all competitors.
2026 Ford F-250 Reviews
The Ford Super Duty is a suitable moniker for the truck. Ford’s most powerful pickup truck can handle any job, no matter how tough, thanks to its many cab and bed configurations and three powerful engine selections. The standard 6.8-liter V-8 gasoline engine makes 400 horsepower and 445 pound-feet of torque. But if you often haul heavy loads, you’ll want the powerful 6.7-liter V-8 Power Stroke diesel engine under the hood. It has 1,200 pound-feet of torque, which lets the truck tow up to 40,000 pounds.
The Super Duty is also very luxurious. The best trims, the King Ranch and Platinum, have leather-lined cabins where you can unwind after a long day at work.
For decades, the Ford Super Duty, the Chevrolet Silverado HD, and the Ram HD have been in a tight competition for the title of best work truck. The Super Duty can tow the most of the three, but the Ram HD was recently redesigned, and the Silverado HD series now has a broader range of options.
What’s New
The Super Duty will stay the same until 2026, except for modest adjustments and option changes last year.
The Lariat Premium Package is available for Lariat Crew Cab 4WD models with the 7.3-liter V-8 gasoline engine. It comes with Co-Pilot360 2.0 driver-assistance technology, running boards, power sliding tinted windows with defrost, Pro Trailer Hitch Assist, Pro Trailer Backup Assist, and Trailer Reverse Guidance.
- SuperCab Short Box is back: Finding the ideal configuration for big trucks may be hard, but Ford has returned the SuperCab with a 148-inch wheelbase and a 6.5-foot short box.
- Tremor Diesel! We didn’t like the Tremor Super Duty very much, but now it comes with a diesel engine.
What We Believe
The Ford F-250 Super Duty from 2026 is a good vehicle, but it’s not the best. The Ford is the best pick if you want a car that looks great and works well.
But what if you also prefer a peaceful trip to and from work? Or a truck that can turn more easily? If you’re interested in other brands of heavy-duty trucks, this is where we suggest you look at the more common ones.
In this situation, we’re talking about the Chevy and GMC Ram 2500 and HD. Ram used to be Truck of the Year and still leads the segment with a better balance of comfort, interior features, and capacity for everyday use.
Ford’s technology is worth paying attention to. This pickup’s towing technology is great, and it’s available in the Lariat Premium package for 2026.
The F-Series Super Duty does have the most horsepower and torque in its class: 500 hp and 1,200 lb-ft from its 6.7-liter diesel engine. However, the Ram is also a good option.
2026 Ford F-250 Exterior
The STX look is now available on F-350 Dually models. It features body-colored bumpers, a painted grille, emblems, and small changes to the interior.
2026 Ford F-250 Interior
- Ford Connectivity Package: You can now buy it once for seven years.
- Front Row: If you want the base XL trim, be ready for a bare cabin. The remainder of the Super Duty series, on the other hand, has more elegant interiors. Ford has built front seats that recline almost flat so drivers may rest comfortably during overnight pauses on lengthy travels. You get more comfort and luxury options as you choose the available trims.
- Second Row: Long passengers in the back will probably only appreciate the ride in the SuperCrew cab variant. The extended SuperCab has a small back seat and small back doors.
- Cargo Capacity: Buyers can choose between a normal cab, an extended SuperCab, or a four-door SuperCrew cab with two bed sizes: a 6.8-foot bed or an 8-foot bed. The Super Duty has many storage spaces and utility trays, and models with bucket seats also have a big storage space in the center console. Crew cabs have even more storage room because there is a lockable box under the back seat.
Tech
The base XL variant has an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, but the more expensive models have a bigger 12.0-inch display. The 12.0-inch digital instrument panel may also be changed. The system feels easy to use because it has two significant volume and tuning knobs and other buttons on the steering wheel.
Some models have a 12.0-inch touchscreen and Sync 4 software that lets you wirelessly use Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The bigger cabin can have enough power outlets to light up a Guns N’ Roses concert, with up to two 110-volt outlets.
Every model comes with a stereo system tuned by Bang & Olufsen. A standard setup has eight speakers and 640 watts of power, and an optional setup has 18 speakers and 1080 watts of power.
- Infotainment: An 8.0-inch touchscreen is standard, and a 12-inch touchscreen is an option.
- Bluetooth and wireless connectivity, Bang & Olufsen calibrated audio system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Stereo with eight speakers (standard) or 18 speakers (optional)
2026 Ford F 250 Engine
The base Super Duty XL level has a 6.8-liter V-8 engine that makes 400 horsepower and 445 lb-ft of torque. You may also choose a more potent 7.3-liter V-8 with 430 horsepower and 485 lb-ft of torque. The 6.7-liter Power Stroke diesel V-8, which is standard on the XLT, is the Super Duty’s best engine, and it can be put in any F-250, F-350, or F-450.
With low and high power options, this gasoline engine can make 475 horsepower and 1,050 lb-ft of torque or 500 hp and 1,200 lb-ft of torque. A dependable 10-speed automatic transmission shifts gears for each configuration. Customers can choose between a single or dual rear axle.
The Tremor is an off-road package for the Super Duty that includes a lift kit and tougher tires, among other things, that make it fit for the road. This tough Ford does what you expect from a big truck that can tow up to 19 tons. The ride is stiff and bumpy while the truck bed is empty, but that feeling goes away when the bed is complete or a trailer is mounted. Even the most expensive trims do better at blocking road and wind noise on the highway.
The brake pedal on the truck we rode was solid and responsive, and the steering was easy to handle at low speeds and in small places. However, even the most extended versions were difficult to turn on.
Engines: 400 horsepower 430 horsepower from a 6.8-liter V-8 475 or 500 hp; 7.3-liter V-8 V-8 diesel engine with 6.7 liters
Transmission: Automatic transmission with 10 speeds
Drive system: rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive
Performance
In a fight between diesel engines, the Ford Super Duty with the 6.7-liter Power Stroke trounced the Chevrolet Silverado with the Duramax engine to 60 mph by a wide margin in our tests. The F-250 SuperCrew 4×4 we tested went from 0 to 60 mph in 5.5 seconds, while the Silverado 2500 took 6.4 seconds.
5.5 seconds for the C/D test to 60 mph (SuperCrew 4×4 with a 6.7-liter diesel V-8)
Payload
The Super Duty can carry up to 8,000 pounds and tow up to 40,000 pounds with a gooseneck towbar, 35,000 pounds with a fifth-wheel arrangement, and 30,000 pounds with a regular towbar. The maker has included a variety of towing aid systems to help this truck handle all that weight.
These include Smart Hitch, an onboard scale that tells you how much your cargo weighs in real time and how to distribute your trailer’s weight. Trailer Navigation can also help you find the best routes by taking into account your trailer’s size and weight.
2026 Ford F 250 MPG
The Ford Super Duty F-250 SuperCrew 4×4 with the high-powered Power Stroke diesel engine got 20 mpg on our fuel-efficient highway route at 75 mph. The EPA doesn’t evaluate vehicles as heavy as the Super Duty and its bigger competitors. The optional Power Stroke diesel engine on the Super Duty should be the most fuel-efficient in the series.

2026 Ford F 250 Safety
Most of the cars in the range come with extensive driver aid technology, such as automated emergency braking and a handy multi-view camera system.
The device that checks for blind spots works even when the vehicle pulls a trailer. However, the Backup Assist feature, which automatically guides the car when backing up to a trailer, didn’t work when we tried it.
Check out the websites of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) to learn more about Super Duty crash test results. Important safety features are:
- Automatic emergency braking is a standard safety feature.
- Optional safety features include lane departure warning, lane keeping assist, and adaptive cruise control.
2026 Ford F 250 Price
The F-250 is a good choice because it has a large crew cab, an 8-foot cargo bed, and a single rear axle. The mid-range Lariat trim offers the best value for money and offers the best balance of comfort and convenience.
To get the most out of your truck, we suggest the high-powered Power Stroke diesel engine. It does cost a lot more, but if you plan to do a lot of heavy towing and hauling, it’s hard to beat.
Verdict
The newest version of the 2026 Ford F-250 is definitely reliable. The Ford Super Duty is a powerful truck with a touch of elegance.
