2023 Ford Edge The first-generation Ford Edge left such an impression that it lasted more than eight years, while the second generation has remained optimistic since 2015. And now the third generation Ford Edge is in development, and the update is definitely not quiet.

The upcoming 2023 Ford Edge will have some very good changes and updates. The Edge 2023 is the next-generation model, so you can get even more luxurious features. Some notable changes worth mentioning include an internal redesign and an external overhaul. Ford Edge

2023 is expected to be upgraded to the next generation, equipped with a 2.0-liter turbocharged in-line engine, paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission. The 2023 Ford Edge is expected to sell for between $33,000 and $44,000.

If the rumors are to be believed, the three-row Ford Edge can be seen next to the two-row model. Additionally, the Ford Edge will offer 4 trim levels, and the sportier Edge ST will be powered by a 335 horsepower supercharged V6 engine. However, in tough competition from competitors such as the Jeep Grand Cherokee, Nissan Murano and Mazda CX9, this SUV looks tough.

2023 Ford Edge Preview

The Ford Edge 2023 will also likely be available in four trims SE, SEL, ST, and Titanium. Prices for the base SE trim are expected to start at $33,000 and will rise to $44,000 for the topmost Titanium trim and ST trim with V6 turbo and AWD.

All trims except the ST will get a turbocharged 2.0-liter engine with an eight-speed automatic transmission, while the ST trim will get a 2.7-liter turbocharged V6 engine with a seven-speed automatic gearbox and paddle shifters. Both engines will get Auto Start-Stop technology.

At the time of writing, the Ford Edge 2023, like the Ford Edge 2022, will have several package options, such as the Ford CoPilot 360 add-on package, cold weather package, comfort package, cargo accessory package, category II trailer configuration package, etc. However, after Ford shared the price list with us, and will update some of it.

There are four versions of the Ford Edge, and one of the ST versions is a performance-oriented version.

If you have money, close your eyes and choose the ST version. Otherwise, we recommend opting for the SEL version, which costs $3,000 more than the base price but has features such as 19-inch alloy wheels, high-quality sound regulation, and power-heated front seats, making the SEL an ideal value proposition.

2023 Ford Edge Interior

The interior of the Ford Edge 2023 is expected to abandon cheap high-quality materials and gain a new look through necessary upgrades. The comfort and attractiveness of the cabin have also been improved by Ford this time around, for which Ford will focus on overall cabin comfort and convenience in this update.

2023 Ford Edge

You may also notice that the upholstery on the basic equipment is much better, and the leather upholstery on the advanced equipment is of a higher quality. The company has supplied hard plastic for the 2023 Ford Edge and will replace it with higher-quality materials.

The Edge will have a redesigned instrument panel and an optional third row, as the CD6 architecture that powers the Ford Explorer is a three-row SUV. Looking forward to a new update from the manufacturer in the coming days.

But for now, the base Ford Edge model will be a two-row crossover with a larger 39.2 cubic feet of trunk volume. The Edge competitor also has plenty of cargo space, but compared to the Edge, I don’t have a spacious cabin.

The Ford Edge’s drawbacks are the small screen of its basic infotainment system and individual USB ports. It is far from satisfactory and meets current market standards. But the Ford Edge 2023 infotainment system will undergo a complete refresh and the new SYNC 4A infotainment system will sport a larger touchscreen unit.

Through renders and spy shots, the infotainment system will lose a lot of buttons, and you’ll get a neat and clean touchscreen with a few physical buttons for climate control. Highlights of the infotainment system include:

  • SYNC4A infotainment system
  • The 12-inch touchscreen infotainment system
  • Voice-activated navigation system
  • SiriusXM Radio
  • Wireless Charging Pad
  • Bluetooth Connectivity
  • USB port

2023 Ford Edge Exterior

The Ford Edge 2023 will get a makeover in terms of its exterior styling. The front fascia, especially the headlights, will be overhauled to be more similar to today’s trends. The design language may be similar to the previous model, but the Edge will see some tweaks around its body.

The SUV’s front fascia will come with newly shaped headlights. The taillights will get a similar treatment. You will notice more chrome accents on the front grille.

The shape of the edges remains more or less the same. But of course, the size will change, although not much. The new Ford Edge will also be equipped with a new set of 18-inch alloy wheels and a sloping roof.

The side profile has a clear body decoration and other colors to choose from. There will be no major changes at the rear and will retain the same LED brake lights as the 2022 Ford Edge.

The size of the Ford Edge 2023 is expected to change, and the new SUV will be much wider than the previous model. However, the Edge is 188.8 inches long, 76 inches wide and 68.3 inches high. The new architects can also increase the wheelbase from the current 112.2 inches.
The Ford Edge 2023 will be bigger and wider than its competitors. By the way, the Mazda CX9 is the longest SUV with a length of 199.4 inches, a width of 77.5 inches, and the longest ground clearance of 8.8 inches. Key features of the Ford Edge 2023 include:

  • 18-inch alloy wheels
  • Speed-sensitive variable intermittent wipers
  • LED Brake Light
  • Front fog lights
  • Powered and heated rearview mirror

2023 Ford Edge Engine

The next-generation Ford Edge 2023 is rumored to come with new powertrain options, which may include a plug-in hybrid or hybrid. The 2022 model offers two powertrains, one 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4 that puts out 250 hp and 275 lb-ft of torque and the second is a 2.7-liter V6 producing 335 hp which is available in the top ST trim.

The standard Edge engine is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission to send power to the front wheels. The base 2.0-liter engine will be retained, while the 3.0-liter V6 is expected to produce 400 horsepower. It can be built into the Ford Edge ST 2023 model. Ford Edge

2023 is based on the CD6 architecture based on the Ford Explorer. This means the Edge 2023 will be RWD, so we can safely assume that the new figure will go from 060 mph in 2022 in 7.6 seconds to a quarter-mile. 15.9 seconds.

However, the fastest SUV in comparison is the Jeep Grand Cherokee with a 0-60 mph time of 6.7 seconds, followed by the Mazda CX-9 with a 0-60 mph time of 7.1 seconds.

The Ford Edge gets a softer and more comfortable suspension, providing a better ride quality. But based on the CD6 architecture, it has a lower center of gravity and is now significantly wider, which will lead to easier handling and integrated driving even at highway speeds.

Therefore, for the Ford Edge, you can expect a revolutionary crossover that combines the best of both worlds. However, the steering feedback and braking force cannot be compared to the 2022 Ford Edge. We hope the 2023 Ford Edge can solve these two problems.

In terms of competition, the Jeep Grand Cherokee is the most powerful SUV with 293 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque, followed by the Nissan Murano with 260 horsepower and 240 pound-feet of torque.

Next is the Ford Edge with 250 hp and 275 lb-ft of torque. This allows the underpowered Mazda CX9 to drop with 227 hp, but it makes up for it with an even better 310 lb-ft of torque.

2023 Ford Edge MPG

The Ford Edge 2023, as is well known, will feature a new engine under the hood. And that means that fuel economy will change too, but the base engine is expected to carry over, so we can safely say that the EcoBoost 2.0L motor on the 2023 Ford Edge will return fuel economy figures of 22 mpg in the city, 29 mpg on the highway and 25 mpg when combined.

The Ford Edge 2023 is expected to be equipped with an 18.5-gallon fuel tank, allowing you to easily return to more than 460 miles of comprehensive cruising range.

There is no doubt that the Ford Edge has an overall fuel economy of 24 mpg, followed by the Nissan Murano, with an overall fuel economy of 23 mpg, and the most powerful being the Jeep Grand. Cherokees are the least efficient. Save 21 mpg. Hybrid fuel, However, the Jeep Grand Cherokee has the largest fuel tank at 24.6 gallons and a total cruising range of 516 miles, the highest ever.

Verdict

The Ford Edge is a good compact SUV in this segment of the market, but it deserves a redesign as it has received some significant upgrades. There is an upgraded rear bumper. In addition, the grille has been redesigned and the wheels are different from the previous version.

There are several new lighting functions at the rear of the SUV and in the cabin. The sports version may have been discontinued, but the new Edge ST looks very bright. By redesigning the interior and using higher quality materials, the Ford Edge makes up for its major shortcomings.

Although we can’t determine the quality of the length, one thing is certain: the Ford Edge 2023 will cause a lot of sensation when it launches in the last quarter of 2022.
